The sweet little Lindsay began modeling at the tender age of three. Growing under the wings of Ford Modeling Agency as model, Lindsay Lohan appeared in several commercial campaigns such as Wendy's, Calvin Klein, Abercrombie & Fitch Kids {A&F Kids}, Gap, Pizza Hut, Jell-O with Bill Cosby, and Proactive Acne for which she was reportedly paid $2 million as fee. She also appeared in Got milk, a campaign launched by milk processors in US to increase the consumption of milk in US by way of educating Americans about the health benefits of milk. Lindsay Lohan has also done photo shoots for leading fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Bliss {UK}, and Blenda {Japan}.

In 1993, seven-year-old Lindsay Lohan appeared on The David Letterman Show dressed as a garbage girl in a Halloween skit called, "Things You Find on the Floor of the D-Train" and within weeks she grabbed NBC-TV series "Another World" {1996-1997}, a soap opera that deals with the life and trails of the people of Bay City. In the soap opera, Lindsay portrayed the role of a girl called Alexandra Fowler who was born out of wedlock and struggling to reconcile with her mother's tempestuous romantic affairs. She gave a tremendous performance and won the hearts of millions of American television viewers.

The following year, she made her movie debut with Nancy Meyers directed movie, "The Parent Trap" {1998} wherein she donned the dual role, playing both the twins, who try to unite their long-divorced parents. Her performance was such that she lived in two different distinct personalities of the twin sisters. In fact, Critic Kenneth Turan called Lohan "the soul of this film". She won accolades and acclaim for her stunning performance in the movie.
